Control Gaging extends centerless gaging to include pneumatic gaging
8/08/08 –Centerless grinding machines are used to grind round parts, including long parts like shock absorber rods and short parts like bearing rings. Control
Gaging has been providing a family of solutions for various part sizes and geometries. Some solutions use sealed LVDT pencil probes in TF-1 and TF-2 gages for direct
mounting on the machine blade. Other solutions use traditional two-finger grinder gages, like the WG2, to measure parts as they are moved along precision two-belt
conveyors designed for gaging applications. Now CGI is extending its family of solutions to include conveyor-mounted pneumatic gages for those applications where
a pneumatic gage is more suitable, or where customers prefer that form of gaging. See these and other innovations from Control Gaging at IMTS 2008. The CGI
booth is located in the North Hall, booth B-7126, McCormick Place, Chicago. IMTS 2008 runs from September 8th to 13th. See you there!
New leadership at Control Gaging
7/01/08 –After 16 years at the helm, Control Gaging’s president, Paul Mueller, has retired and has turned over leadership to Dave Hayes, CGI’s
Sales and Marketing Manager. Dave, a twenty-year CGI veteran, brings a customer-oriented mindset to his new position. Dave has many years of the direct customer
contact that comes with his prior roles in CGI Field Service and International Sales. The new appointment insures a smooth transition and guarantees that CGI
will not loose focus on their commitment to customer satisfaction that has been a key to their success over the past 36 years.
Control Gaging upgrades popular ID gage
7/01/08 –The Model 88 quick-setting gage has been very popular in the bearing industry world wide. The quick set-up feature makes it ideal for rapidly
changing bearing production from one bearing model to another. The gage’s durability in the harsh environment of ID grinding has created many loyal Model 88
advocates.
Control Gaging has now upgraded the gage to the new Model 88M. The upgrade centers on the serviceability of the gage. The cable and tubing connections into the gage have been revised to be both more durable when installing and removing the gage from the grinder. The ne Model 88M also has been changed to utilize all metric fasteners. The Model 88M is ideal for new gage applications and can be used in many Model 88 replacement situations.
See the new gage at IMTS 2008, booth number B-7126 in the North Hall, at McCormick Place in Chicago in early September.
Control Gaging introduces Wheel Balancers
6/01/08 –Customers around the industrial world have appreciated grinder gaging from Control Gaging for over 35 years. CGI’s quick-setting gages
with their highly respected durability have won loyal advocates in plants on five continents. Now those customers can also have their grinders also fitted with automatic
grinding wheel balancers from Control Gaging. Balancers help provide a smoother ground surface and longer grinding wheel life. Look for these innovations when
you stop at booth B-7126 in the North Hall of McCormick Place in Chicago at IMTS 2008. IMTS runs from September 8th through the 13th. See you there!

AutoCAD Inventor upgrades at Control Gaging
5/01/08 –Long-time CAD user Control Gaging has again kept pace with its machine tool builder and end-user customers by upgrading to AutoCAD Inventor. In
addition to maintaining electronic file compatibility with customers, the new CAD package allows CGI engineers to design its products with greater speed and with even
greater assurance of manufacturability and product functionality. For example, Inventor has more realistic graphics and allows the designer to quickly find details
in an assembly drawing. The new package has more powerful modeling tools that help create the wanted geometries more quickly. CGI’s efforts with CAD
started with COMSA Medusa in the early 90’s and CGI has progressed through several generations of AutoCAD since then.

Control Gaging connects with QDAS®
10/15/07 –Cooperating with parent company Marposs SpA, Control Gaging is now offering connectivity between CGI products and QDAS® by using the Marposs
QuickSPC package. QDAS® has been adopted by several major end users as their preferred SPC standard. One of CGI’s products, the D500 controller,
is frequently used in gaging applications that lend themselves to SPC. For example, the D500 is used to measure parts and control processes during through-feed double-disk
grinding, centerless grinding, and CNC turning. The measurement data used by the D500 to control the machining process can now be stored or transmitted over a network
in a QDAS® compatible format.

Control Gaging Celebrates 30 years
1/02/02 - Founded in 1972, Control Gaging Inc. celebrates its 30th year of business in 2002. Founder Jack Brown started the Michigan-based company in 1972 to address
an industry need for more sophisticated instruments to control automatic machinery and produce higher quality products. Even then, Control Gaging’s industrial pioneer
recognized the need to improve performance and reduce setup time. He patented the quick setup Model 50 Gage that took in-process gaging to a new level of reliability and
efficiency.
