The TF1 & TF2 are general purpose gage fixtures that Tadapt to almost any thrufeed centerless grinder. The gage fixture mounts to the exit workrest of the grinder and feeds part measurement data for real-time analysis and grinder control.
As parts exit the grinder, a carbide “V” channels the parts into the gaging portion of the fixture. An adjustable height carbide gage shoe contacts the part as it moves through the fixture and an easily replaceable ruggedized probe rides on the carbide gage shoe. As parts move through the fixture, the measurement data is sent to a PD6n statistical controller.
The TF1 & TF2 are used with the PC-based,
PD6n statistical controller. The PD6n samples the measured data, assembles it into subgroups and generates an average plot which is displayed in an X-bar & R format. At
a glance the operator can see part size distribution and size trend. This statistically based closed loop size control system automatically compensates for wheel wear
and other grinding variations.
Intelligent Process Control algorithms monitor normal part-to-part variation and removes them from the compensation analysis. This allows the statistical controller to maintain the tightest possible compensation settings even as grinding conditions are changing.
