“Driven Top Guide” for low mass parts
  • Cut your grinding costs with automatic grinder control based on real-time diameter measurement
  • Rolling “V” and “Driven Top Guide” versions available

You can reduce operator Yintervention and improve grinder productivity by measuring each part as it leaves the grinder and controlling the grinder based on real time part size. The TFD-24 “Rolling V” or “Driven Top Guide” size control gage, when used with Control Gaging’s PD-6(n) Statistical Controller can significantly reduce your grinding costs by analyzing real-time part data for reliable “closed loop” automatic grinder control.

The TFD-24 Gage is integrated into a dual belt gaging conveyor. Parts are driven to and through the gage. As parts enter the fixture, the gage head pivots and lifts on an adjustable “Rolling V” to insure that the gage fingers contact the part along the part centerline. Both gage fixture centerline height and the “Rolling V” can be easily adjusted to accommodate parts within the gage fixture measurement range. The TFD-24 employs a rugged and robust Model 66 gage head.

Rolling “V” Version of TFD-24 Gage

The Model 66 was developed to withstand the harsh environment typically found on production grinders. The Model 66 gage features Cont rol Gaging’ s patented slip-clutch mechanism. The slip clutch both protects the gage from internal damage in a gage wreck and cuts gage setup time (zeroing gage) to less than 60 seconds.

PD6n Statistical Controller
The PD6n Statistical Controller is designed to maintain best overall part size by controlling the grinder to it’s best capability. Control Gaging’s statistical control techniques significantly outperform all other methods of part size compensation currently available.
