- Automatic Grinder Control based on Real-Time Thickness Measurement
- Improved Productivity
- Improved Size Control
Cut Your Grinding Costs!
Reduce operator
intervention and improve
gr inde r productivity by
measuring each part as it leaves
the grinder and controlling the
grinder based on real time part
size.
How Does It Work?
Control Gaging's Double Disc Grinder Gage System provides automatic grinder control based on part thickness. Parts are automatically measured as they leave the grinder.
To measure the parts, a dynamic gaging fixture is mounted adjacent to the exit guides. As parts exit the grinder they flow immediately into the fixture and are transported
through the fixture captured between urethane belts. Gaging of the parts takes place in the central portion of the dynamic fixture. As parts flow through the gages, part size
data is fed to the Statistical Controller. The dynamic gaging fixture is both rigid and rugged and will stand up to the production grinding environment. The fixture moves
laterally so that clearance for the operator to work on the exit guides is provided.
Field Test Results
Field test results show that this gage fixture can handle 24 hour per day throughput with minimal maintenance. One of the early adopters of this product found that they
couldcut from 3 shifts per day to 2 due to the improvement in grinder productivity afforded by the gage.
If you’re looking to cut your thrufeed double disc grinding costs, the DD5 can do the job!
PD6/PD6n Statistical Controller
The PD6/PD6n Statistical Controller is designed to maintain best overall part size by controlling the grinder to it’s best capability.
Statistical Control significantly outperforms all other methods of part size compensation currently available.
